The siren roared overhead as the bombers flew over. The people jumped the steps two at once past the Underground sign. Crowded into the dark, damp station, lit by candles, the people cowered. The bomb fell on Victoria Station, destroying the marble stairs. Wooden planks were laid the next day.

Cliffs of Dover

A lone cloud races across the searing blue sky. Looking out towards the sea, he can see forever. When he was younger, life seemed so beautiful, a crystalline landscape stretching out before him. Now he looks down to the sea. There is no crystal. He falls forward into forever.

Killing Time

Creeping along the sandy hall, to the bedroom, knife held high. The old man sleeps, chest rising. Around him, his clocks. He plunges the knife. Old father wakes up, screaming in agony. His arms flail. His head falls back, eyes glazed. A flicker, a pause, time passes to the son.
